National Credit Union Youth Month
Youth Can Catch the Save Wave This April
Kowabunga! This April youth will be riding the save wave into the credit union. Whether they’ve surfed or not, youth love digging their toes in the sand, playing with beach balls, and jumping in the waves. During the month of April, kids will have the opportunity to feel like they’re at the beach when visiting their credit union as they get tips on how to surf and save.
Like surfers, young savers need tools and techniques to improve their skills. And we’re here to help youth start on the path to healthy savings habits. During the week of April 20-26, Kearney Federal Credit Union will celebrate National Credit Union Youth Week™. This year’s theme, “Catch the Save Wave™,” highlights tips and resources available at the credit union to boost good habits and “hang ten” on the save wave. Through lots of practice, young surfer savers will learn the secret of riding a gnarly wave that will help them achieve big-time savings.
So stop by Kearney Federal Credit Union and get in on the action at our Youth Week events: savings challenge, giveaways, treats, and a coloring contest! Plus, every new kids club account comes with a totally rad bag of goodies!
Bring your saving surfers into Kearney Federal Credit Union, and we’ll show them how to grab some air and carve through the save wave.

National Youth Savings Challenge
The National Youth Saving Challenge takes place during the month of April in conjunction with our Youth Week celebration. Youth are encourage to start saving to help them learn the significance and responsibility of money. It is important to inform your children of the benefits of saving and develop a connection with a trusted financial institution. By starting young, we can all help in developing smart money habits with today’s youth. Members 18 or younger can either make a deposit or open a new account during April to participate in the Savings Challenge.
Young members that participate in the Savings Challenge during April will also get a chance to win $100 and other prizes!
The National Youth Saving Challenge is open to all youth under 18 who visit a participating credit union during April. While youth are encouraged to make a deposit at the credit union, no deposit is required to enter. Those parents/guardians giving permission for their youth to enter can submit an entry form to Kearney Federal Credit Union including the following information: name, date, and current age. Limit one entry per person. On May 14, 2014, the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) will randomly select 25 participating credit unions to each receive one $100 award. Each credit union will then randomly select a winner from its entrants. Your credit union will notify you if you are one of the 25 winners. Odds of winning depend on number of entrants. This contest is void where prohibited.
